Split/Second game released in Europe as Split Second Velocity PC Game, which is a racing arcade video game. This game developed by the Black Rock Studio & published by the Disney Interactive Studios. The game released for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. These game released in May 2010 and later released for the OnLive in June 2011. In game, players take the part in a fictional of reality television show. Which consisting of variety of events and each focusing on the destructible environments that triggered remotely by the driver actions familiar as “power plays”.
In Split Second game, players takes part on a fictional reality TV show, where participants are racing for the money and glory. Entirely a race, the players can build up own “power play” meter by just performing stunts, as like jumps & mid-air overtakes, also precision driving, as like drafting opponents & drifting. As player builds up their own meter, the special events which can be triggered. That create obstacles for the other players, then open up shortcuts, or innovate an entire section of race course. Those triggers also activated by AI opponents.
Such as the events range from the shock-wave inducing explosions to the buckling highways & dam breaches. The severity of these events available for triggering varies that depending on how the player’s meter is full. Level 1 event become available while one of three segments of bar are full. Level 2 event can only be triggered upon full bar. The event locations & vehicles they’ll affect, highlighted with the blue icons for level one power plays. And red icons for the level two, also the player must have time for action accurately so that the player can hinder his/her competitors as much as probable.
There also have certain power plays which can be reused, as like explosives dropped from the helicopters, shortcuts and exploding tanker trucks. But some of the other power plays permanent which can only be used at once in single race. The Black Rock Studios wanted to make HUD as simple as probable by taking away the all unnecessary elements as like the speedometer and track map leaving only lap count, position that player is in. Also power play meter, with all positioned behind player’s car to avoid the detracting from scenery.
